Formerly known as RHT Management Services, the firm has evolved into a modern professional practice built on strong technical expertise, long-standing client relationships, and a commitment to delivering clear, reliable financial guidance.

Our Background & Leadership

RawDahna’s journey reflects measured growth and thoughtful evolution. The firm’s current chapter began in 2005 when Michael Vause Raw, a Chartered Accountant with over four decades of experience, acquired the business. Initially operating under the RHT Management Services name, the practice later traded as Michael Vause Raw Chartered Accountants while continuing to serve an established client base under its original branding.

In February 2025, the firm entered a new phase with the appointment of Gerald Dahna as a shareholder. This marked a strategic shift in leadership, bringing additional perspective, diversity of thought, and a forward-looking approach to the business. Together, the partners combine deep technical expertise with a progressive mindset, positioning RawDahna to respond effectively to an evolving regulatory and economic environment

Michael Vause Raw

Founder & Partner | Chartered Accountant (SA)

Michael Vause Raw brings decades of experience in auditing, accounting, tax, and financial leadership to RawDahna. He is known for his disciplined, considered approach and his ability to provide clients with clear, practical advice grounded in strong technical expertise and real-world business experience.

He matriculated from Maritzburg College before serving as an officer in the South African Navy. Michael went on to complete a BCom and CTA at the University of Cape Town, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and passing the board examination on his first attempt. He completed his articles at Welby Stewart and progressed quickly into roles with increased responsibility and leadership.

Throughout his career, Michael has held senior financial and leadership roles across a wide range of organisations, gaining deep experience in financial management, audit oversight, and strategic decision-making. This breadth of exposure has allowed him to work comfortably with businesses of varying sizes and levels of complexity, and to translate technical financial information into clear, practical guidance for business owners and executives. He also progressed into audit management early in his career, building a strong foundation in governance, compliance, and professional standards.

Michael later established and led his own professional practice, providing auditing, accounting, and tax services to clients across various sectors. His work is characterised by a strong focus on integrity, compliance, and long-term client relationships.

Outside of his professional life, Michael has always valued sport and teamwork. He played rugby until the age of 65 and remains actively involved in squash and social golf. These pursuits reflect the discipline, resilience, and commitment that continue to underpin his professional approach.

At RawDahna, Michael provides strategic oversight and technical leadership, ensuring the firm delivers reliable, high-quality advice that clients can trust.

Gerald T. Dahna

Partner | Accounting, Tax & Advisory

Gerald T. Dahna brings a strong technical foundation, a forward-looking mindset, and hands-on SME experience to RawDahna's leadership team. His approach is analytical, solutions-focused, and grounded in a clear understanding of the financial and operational challenges faced by growing businesses.

Gerald holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science and postgraduate diplomas in Advanced and Applied Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. He has successfully completed both the Initial Test of Competence and the Assessment of Professional Competence through the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, reflecting a high standard of technical and professional capability.

He completed his SAICA articles at RSM South Africa, where he gained exposure to external audit across a range of clients and industries, later progressing to the role of Audit Supervisor. This experience strengthened his understanding of risk, compliance, and financial controls within regulated environments. He subsequently moved into industry, where he worked as an accountant within a logistics business, gaining practical insight into operational finance, reporting, and decision-making within a commercial setting.

Gerald joined Michael Vause Raw Chartered Accountants in 2021 as an Associate, focusing on accounting, tax, and advisory services. In February 2025, he became a shareholder, marking a strategic step in the firm's evolution. His appointment reflects RawDahna's commitment to fresh perspective, diversity of thought, and a modern approach to professional services.

Gerald is particularly focused on supporting SMEs with practical, forward-looking financial advice that enables better decision-making and sustainable growth. He is known for his ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight.

Outside of work, Gerald enjoys watching and playing soccer and keeps abreast of developments in the profession through regular engagement with financial journals. At RawDahna, he plays a key role in driving the firm's advisory capability and ensuring services remain relevant in a changing business and regulatory landscape.
